Our Preschool Program

Concordia’s Preschool program has been a vibrant and integral part of the Northeast Seattle area for many years.

We offer half or full-day classes for children ages 3 through 5 years and are fully licensed by DCYF of WA State. With our dedicated, experienced, and nurturing staff, we are blessed to serve many families.

Curriculum

Concordia’s preschool program is play-based, introducing a more academic curriculum as the children grow older. Our play-based program encourages students to learn new social competencies including self-advocacy, problem-solving, and being relational with others.

Zoo-phonics is used in all classes to help students gain prereading skills. Students have Physical Education and Music each week taught by specialist teachers.

Classes

Preschool (3-4 year olds)

Age 3 before August 31st

Overview: Our preschool class is focused on helping students learn social, emotional, and independence skills needed to be great students, along with early academics in a warm and loving environment. The early academics include colors, shapes, ABCs, and the “Zoophonics” early phonics program.

Enrollment Options: Half-day and full-day options, from 4-5 days per week.

Kindergarten Prep Class (4-5 year olds)

Age 4 before August 31st

Overview: This Kindergarten prep program is a great option for students who will enter Kindergarten the following year. Our 5’s program within this classroom is a great option for summer birthdays or other 5’s who want to wait a year before entering K.

The learning environment is focused on Kindergarten preparation , but is play-based and dynamic, with free choice play center time, creative art projects, and also offers foreign language.

Enrollment Options: Half-day and full day, either 4 or 5 days per week



Facilities

Our beautiful, large classrooms are filled with natural light and we offer a play-based relational curriculum that is geared toward the individual child’s development and learning style.

We also enjoy a dedicated recess time for large motor activity in our 1/2 acre outside playground area and on rainy or cold days we have access to our full-sized gymnasium.
